New Common Core Parent Toolkit Launches on PTA.org

National PTA has launched the Common Core Toolkit to help parents better understand Common Core State Standards and what students should be learning at each grade in order to graduate college- and career-ready. Available to PTA members at PTA.org/CommonCore, the kit includes a variety of resources related to the new standards, including Common Core history and basic information, assessment tools, parent guides, and  frequently asked questions.

The Common Core State Standards Initiative is an effort designed to improve educational outcomes for students by developing a set of consistent, voluntary, internationally-benchmarked academic standards in mathematics and English language arts. More than 45 states have formally adopted the Common Core State Standards, and National PTA has been at the forefront educating parents and communities about the new standards, their implementation, and the impact they will have on our children and schools.
