Sunnyvale Community Service Back to School Supply Drive

 

This message is from Sunnyvale Community Services. They are currently collecting school supplies for children in need ~

We are expecting to distribute over 1,100 backpacks filled with age appropriate supplies to our children on Thursday, August 15^th.  We are in need of HELP. Backpacks and school supply donations have been coming in very, VERY slowly this year and we are afraid that we will not have enough to give out to our children.

Some ideas on what you can do to help us:

-Help us spread the word!

-If you're having a company picnic, group get-together, neighborhood party for National Night Out, consider setting up a donation barrel to collect school supplies.

-If you're having a birthday party, consider asking for school supplies or monetary donations to purchase school supplies in lieu of birthday gifts.

-If you'd like to add a little fun and excitement to the workplace, organize a week-long contest between all the departments to see which department collects the most school supplies.

-Get your children involved!  Take them to the store with you and ask them to help select a backpack and school supplies for a child in need.

Below are a list of our MOST NEEDED ITEMS:

-High School backpacks (no red, no blue)
-Binders (1&1/2" or 2")
-Index Cards
-Dividers
-Scientific Calculators
-Dictionaries
-Colored Markers
-Colored Pencils

We've extended our deadline!  The absolute final deadline to collect backpacks and school supplies is Friday, August 9^th.  Thank you!
